A few years ago, I was asked to tread into unknown waters and run for the council position in the Windy Hill ward.
Back then I knew nothing about politics but felt that I could make difference by being a voice for the people. Four years ago, I said I wasn’t a politician and this remains true today. I am a lifetime Horry County resident and have had the honor and opportunity to serve the citizens and they have trusted me to be their voice in government. We have all witnessed many great improvements to our city, but there is a lot of work I still would like to get done.
The last 4 years have been the most wonderful journey in my life. But I can say without a doubt that my favorite part of this journey has been the fact that I have had the chance to meet what I consider to be the greatest people in the world, the many citizens of this city.
I came from a very humbled and troubled childhood and had the fortune to be adopted by two wonderful parents. Growing up as a physically abused child, I have had many obstacles in my lifetime to overcome and have been able to do so with my family & friends beside me.
My goal on council is simple, to work to keep this beach the best place to live, work and vacation. This is not a part time job for me. You will see me out all over the city always looking for ways to help improve it, from the beaches, to the Sports Park, to riding with our first responders. I am going to continue to make sure that everyone’s voice is heard.
Four years ago you elected me. I’m not a career politician or someone that is doing this for some type of personal gain or hidden agenda. I’m just like every other citizen of this city, someone who takes pride where I live and work, and I want this city to continue to be the best that it can be.
